Senior Lead - Engineering Excellence M/F

We are looking for a Senior Lead – Engineering Excellence to drive enterprise-wide improvements in engineering quality, efficiency, and digital ways of working. This role leads the definition and rollout of engineering standards, toolchains, and reference architectures across global sites, while advancing AI-enabled engineering workflows and secure system integrations.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

As a member of the Engineering Excellence leadership, co‑create group strategy and annual plan; partner with IT, Quality, and Product leadership on priorities, funding, and governance. 


Programs & Portfolio

Drive program planning and execution; manage risks, vendors, and change. Own portfolio epics and budgets; build business cases and track benefits. 


Standards, Architecture & Tool-chain

Define enterprise standards and reference architectures across CAD/CAE/PLM/E‑CAD tool-chains; sponsor solution design ensuring cyber-security, data life-cycle, and compliance requirements. , 
Lead multi‑site deployments (cut over, migration, training at scale, hyper-care) with strong change management.

 

AI Agents — Preparation & Operations

Identify high‑value engineering workflows (e.g., CAD governance checks, DFMEA support, ECO triage) for agentization; perform feasibility and risk assessments.
Design agent operating models: context sources (PLM/requirements), guardrails (data access, change control), human‑in‑the‑loop reviews, and incident/rollback procedures.

API Creation & Lifecycle
Define internal API standards (versioning, OpenAPI specs, auth, rate limiting) for integrations between CAD/PLM/ECAD, analytics, and document control systems; ensure reliability, security, and auditability.
Own API product backlog: developer portal, documentation, SDK snippets, sample pipelines; manage change notices and deprecation paths

 

 

 

Our requirements

Educational background

MSc (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related) or equivalent; advanced certifications desirable (e.g., PMP/SAFe, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt). Mechanical & Electrical domain exposure is preferred to tailor methods and digital tools to real engineering practices. 


Professional & managerial competences

Program/portfolio management; budget and vendor management. 
Deep expertise in engineering toolchains and integration patterns (e.g., SolidWorks/ePlan/PLM). 
AI/Automation: agent design patterns, prompt/context engineering for technical domains, policy & guardrail configuration, offline evaluation methods (golden set creation), human‑in‑the‑loop workflows.
API Engineering: REST/GraphQL design, OpenAPI, authN/authZ (OAuth2/OIDC), CI/CD for integrations, observability (logs, metrics, tracing), and secure data handling across CAD/PLM repositories.
Organisational change leadership and communications.

 
Personal characteristics

Strategic, decisive, and empathetic leader; able to influence without line authority and to facilitate complex cross‑site change.
