Lead Engineer - IT Operations

In our factory in Szczecin we are looking for  Lead Engineer – IT Operations (MES & OT Support). You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, integration, and lifecycle management of all Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure across production sites. The role bridges IT and Operations, providing governance, technical leadership, and hands‑on support for shopfloor systems, including OT networked devices, production PCs.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain OT assets, including shopfloor PCs, thin clients, printers, scanners, and industrial PCs used in manufacturing.
  • Ensure OT governance standards are applied consistently, including asset naming, ownership, criticality classification, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security and OT system owners to maintain compliance with NIS2 and ISO 62443.
  • Lead provisioning of shopfloor PCs, mobile tablets, and new equipment connected to MES and OT networks.
  • Oversee shopfloor connectivity, including MQTT/HTTP integrations, Wi-Fi, and secure communication between IT and OT networks.
  • Manage MES/OT incidents, including device outages, printer failures, terminal malfunctions, and equipment order fulfilment, while driving root cause analysis to reduce recurring issues.
  • Establish monitoring for OT devices, MES services, and shopfloor infrastructure, and manage patching, versioning, and lifecycle planning.
  • Support storage, backup, and data retention for MES operational data.
  • Maintain documentation for MES/OT topology, connectivity, dependencies, configurations, and operational procedures, and provide knowledge transfer and training to relevant support teams.

Our requirements

  • Educational background in IT/Math/OT
  • At least 4 years of experience in related area
  • Solid understanding of MES platforms, shopfloor workflows, and production line IT.
  • Experience in OT networks, industrial PCs, device integrations, and layered architecture models (e.g., Purdue Model).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across endpoints, networks, device drivers, machine interfaces, and integration layers.
  • Familiarity with security standards for OT and production networks.
