Test engineer for High Power Converter systems

We are looking for a test engineer driving power converter developments through the type testing and first field commissioning phase, as a part of our Product & Engineering Solutions (P&ES) business unit.

 

Purpose of the position:

Power converters development and manufacturing is a growing business at KK Wind Solutions. With a promising sales pipeline within the Hydrogen and the Wind industry, KK Wind Solutions is looking for an Electrical engineer who can take over the validation, type testing and first commissioning on a customer site in various power converter.

 

You ensure the proper product validation by execution of appropriate tests in our test fields and laboratories. You support product optimizations through iterative approaches to reach optimized cost & reliable high power converters for the renewable industry. Based on your structured documentation, high quality product qualification is demonstrated. Prototype field commissioning final development work towards satisfying our customers.

Responsibilities

  • In house electrical testing of high power converter arrangements
  • Software parameter definition according to product specification
  • Performance of factory and site acceptance tests after field commissioning
  • Trouble shooting in case of malfunctions in the field. Remote and on-site system monitoring and guidance to the service technician to bring systems back into operation.
  • Perform systematic root cause analysis of system failures and suggest robust actions to fix the problem permanently.
  • Maintain technical expertise via cross-functional training with your peers

Our requirements

  • Education background on Electrical Engineering at Bachelor's level or comparable degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a comparable environment
  • Ability to take international travel to Customers, Production and Type test site (5 days / month).
  • Fluent in English and German
