Specialist Engineer for Converter Design

Purpose of the position:

Establish converter design with cross functional interaction to all value streams within a matrix-oriented organization. Setup of the converter modules requirements based on internal & external specifications and international standards. Within this, drive technical communication with customers and suppliers. Application of new design principles with the entire P&ES team and suppliers. Architectural guidance of the development during the entire product life cycle: specification, design setup, implementation, verification & validation, preparation for serial manufacturing and handover to the production team. Efficient team & value-oriented guidance & support to the down streamed detailed electro-mechanical design teams in Global- and Customer-engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural electro-mechanical system concept definition
  • Use existing and drive new converter building block concepts
  • Set new impulses and direction together with the entire P&ES team
  • Drive and optimize test and verification setup and prototype build
  • Support the project management in resource planning, competency selection and project execution
  • Efficient use of design supporting tools, e.g., requirement management system, D-FMEA, risk assessment, trade studies
  • Maintain valuable interactions & dialogs to suppliers and customers
  • Keep high technical know-how level within the team, e.g. through interaction with universities, participation on  fairs and conferences
  • Actively drive the matrix interaction to KK value chain organizations like: Manufacturing, Sourcing, Global Engineering, Business Units (BUs)

Our requirements

  • Education background on Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Master or comparable degree
  • Minimum 3 years design engineer experience in a comparable working environment
  • Fluent in spoken & written English
