Are you ready to deepen your technical influence—shaping direction, framing complex problems, and defining what matters most in early‑stage technology development?
We are looking for a Senior Specialist to join our Bionic Solutions team. In this role, you will act as a key technical authority, helping mature advanced high‑current busbar concepts by setting direction, identifying risks, and defining the right questions long before solutions are finalised.
This role is about seeing the full physical picture, integrating multiple disciplines, and guiding technical work toward robust, scalable outcomes.
As a Senior Specialist, you will define the technical design space that balances electrical performance, mechanical integration, and efficient material use—ensuring that the solutions we develop are robust, scalable, and cost‑effective.
You’ll bring deep technical judgement, collaborate closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners, and ensure that every concept is validated long before it becomes reality.
In this role, you will contribute across early and mid‑phase development, with a strong focus on concept maturity and technical framing.
- Assess and challenge early busbar concepts from a multi‑physics perspective (mechanical, thermal, electromagnetic, material behaviour)
- Help define design boundaries, key assumptions and critical risk areas early in the development process
- Set technical direction for analysis and numerical simulation work, being EMAG or CFD, including what should be analysed, why, and to what level of fidelity
- Review, interpret and validate results from simulations and tests performed by others (internal or external)
- Translate physics‑based insights into clear technical recommendations and decision input
- Collaborate closely with system, mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers to align on concepts and trade‑offs
- Engage with suppliers and partners to evaluate feasibility, scalability and robustness of proposed solutions
- Contribute to strengthening engineering methods, shared understanding and technical best practices within Bionic Solutions
This is a great opportunity for someone stepping into higher responsibility—whether that means deepening technical leadership, influencing product direction, or becoming a go‑to specialist in your field.
We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or related fields.
You will thrive in this role if you have:
- A background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering (e.g. strong‑current / power systems), applied physics, or a related field
- Experience working with complex, physically coupled systems, where multiple domains interact
- Strong intuition for materials, thermodynamics, electromagnetic effects, and their mechanical consequences
- Experience working with CFD or EMAG simulations and analysis — not necessarily running models yourself, but understanding assumptions, limitations and implications
- The ability to structure ill‑defined problems and guide teams toward the right technical questions
- Confidence providing technical judgment and recommendations in cross‑functional settings
- A pragmatic mindset that balances innovation with feasibility and risk
- A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant engineering or science discipline, or equivalent practical experience
You do not need to be a CAD expert or a dedicated simulation specialist. Curiosity, sound judgment and the ability to connect disciplines are far more important.
Why Work With Us
- A workplace where your ideas and voice truly matter
- The chance to grow your technical authority and leadership
- A culture that values collaboration, inclusion, and knowledge‑sharing
- Support for your career development and continuous learning
- A team that believes diverse perspectives and create stronger engineering solutions
