Manager - Concept Development M/F

Own and scale production concepts (modular layouts, tooling, equipment) and global standards for product routings, efficiency calculation, and tool/equipment selection. Deliver production concepts for new products that ensure safe and efficient shopfloor operations, embedding ergonomics and Lean (Kanban, SMED, singlepiece flow, visual management). You will cogovern the Manufacturing Excellence (GMT) community and drive the global adoption of standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

 

  •  Design & Standards: Define global standards for production concepts, layouts, tooling/equipment and product routings. Engineer efficient line designs with optimal resource utilization and builtin ergonomics and safety. Define efficiency calculation methods (e.g., time & motion, takt, line balancing) and tool/equipment selection criteria.

     

  • Implementation & Improvement: Lead global rollouts of standards across layouts, tooling and concepts. Support NPI with layouts/tooling and operational readiness to achieve firsttimeright. Partner with Automation on mechanical design and vendor evaluation; integrate Industry 4.0 principles.

     

  • People & Community: Build team capabilities, educate sites on global standards, and actively steward the Manufacturing Excellence community (GMT) through playbooks, benchmarks and governance.

     

  • Compliance & HSE: Ensure CE compliance of concept designs and documentation. Champion ergonomics and safe workstation design.

     

Our requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering; 8–10 years in manufacturing/industrial engineering/ME or related roles.

     

  • Strong grasp of manufacturing processes, design principles, quality methodologies.

     

  • Proficiency in Time & Motion, ergonomics and Lean (Kanban, SMED, singlepiece flow, visual management).

     

  • Solid layout & tooling design expertise.

     

  • Familiarity with automation/robotics and Industry 4.0.

     

  • CE Certification expertise.

     

  • Excellent English; strong stakeholder management; proven change leadership.
