We are looking for a creative electrical engineer driving Power converter concepts and architectures from initial ideas to final products for the Hydrogen and Wind industry, as a part of our Product Management & Development (PMD) team. 

 


Purpose of the position:
Power converter development and manufacturing is a growing business at KK Wind Solutions. With a promising sales pipeline within the Hydrogen and Wind industry, We are looking for an Electrical engineer who delivers initial power converter concepts to enable sales and provide innovative technical solutions to customers.

Responsibilities

You have the freedom for architectural guidance of the further development during the entire product life cycle: specification, design setup, implementation, verification & validation, preparation for serial manufacturing and handover to the production team.

 

You will be part of a team which is accountable for the electro-/mechanical design of KK's own IP Power converters and that should also be ready to support value engineering activities on our customer’s designs.

 

 

Your main tasks:

  • Define the architecture of high-power converter switchboard concepts based on existing sub-modules to comply to customer requirements
  • Support sales pitches with representative system presentations and supplementary technical documentation
  • Define requirements for internal and external submodule development
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define a modular product family while ensuring communication with workstreams and stakeholders
  • Use design supporting tools (e.g., requirement management, D-FMEA, risk assessments) and monitor project performance including time, scope, budget, product cost, and quality
  • Maintain technical expertise via cross-functional training with channels such as online courses, fairs, and conferences

Our requirements

  • Education background on Electrical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering, Master or comparable degree
  • Minimum 3 years design engineer experience in an innovative, collaborative and global working environment
  • Ability to take occasional international travel to Customers, Production and Type test site (≈20 days/year).
  • Fluent in English and/or German 

 

 

Location:

Your primary workplace will be Kempen, Germany with flexibility for hybrid work.

Willingness for occasional travel between KK and customer sites, primarily in Europe is required.
