System Manager, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

Responsibilities

Act as the overall system‑responsible owner of the entire BESS solution/product.

Define and maintain the system architecture, ensuring seamless integration of:

  • PCS (Power Conversion System)
  • Battery DC Block
  • AC Skid
  • EMS & Hybrid Power Plant Controller (HPPC)
  • Grid interconnection & compliance

Ensure subsystem interfaces are clearly defined, robust, and fully aligned across electrical, control, mechanical, and communication domains.

Collaborate closely with other System Managers to deliver a high‑quality, reliable, safe, and easy‑to-install BESS platform.

Support customer-facing project phases, including:

  • Understanding customer technical and functional requirements
  • System sizing and configuration
  • Defining or selecting product variants and architectures
  • Clarifying integration, performance, and compliance aspects

Ensure the BESS platform meets all relevant standards and certifiable requirements for the targeted European and global markets.

Drive product-level requirement definition, functional specifications, technical governance, and change management.

Contribute to product roadmap development, ensuring alignment with market trends, grid requirements, and future hybrid power plant needs.

Support cost‑optimization, manufacturability, and quality initiatives to ensure a price-competitive product.

Maintain system documentation, design rules, product configuration guidelines, and compliance packages.

Our requirements

Must‑haves:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Controls Engineering, or a related field.

Strong understanding of grid‑scale BESS architecture and system integration.

Experience working with multiple subsystems such as PCS, battery containers, AC Skids, and EMS/plant controllers.

Ability to define system requirements, specify subsystem interfaces, and validate system integration.

Understanding of grid interconnection requirements, certifiable standards, and BESS compliance guidelines.

Experience with customer technical discussions, system sizing, and solution definition.

 

Nice‑to‑haves:

Experience in hybrid power plant solutions (BESS + PV + WTG).

Familiarity with European grid codes (ENTSO‑E, national TSO/DSO requirements).

Background in product ownership, system engineering, or platform leadership.

Experience with industry certification processes for electrical or power systems.

Knowledge of thermal, mechanical, or communication aspects of BESS solutions.

 

 

Location

This role can be based in our offices in Ikast or Hammel, with flexibility for hybrid work.
