Software Architect - Embedded Linux Platform

• Define and evolve the embedded platform architecture, balancing build, buy, and borrow strategies pragmatically.
• Lead design decisions for embedded Linux-based systems, including kernel configuration, driver integration, and middleware.
• Collaborate with internal development teams and selected external partners to ensure effective integration and progress.
• Integrate secure-by-design principles into architecture and development workflows, ensuring robustness and reliability.
• Support CI/CD pipeline standardization and automation for embedded systems.
• Evaluate and select open-source components, ensuring license compliance and long-term maintainability.
• Contribute to risk assessments and support compliance with relevant software and platform standards.
• Guide implementation of modular and scalable software components that support future product lines.
• Act as a technical mentor and sparring partner for developers across teams.
• Communicate architectural decisions and technical topics clearly to both engineering and business stakeholders.

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development and architecture.
• Proven experience with embedded Linux (Yocto, kernel, systemd, drivers).
• Strong understanding of secure software design and cybersecurity principles, including threat modeling and system hardening.
• Strong skills in C/C++, Python, and Linux-based development.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Docker, including automated testing workflows.
• Understanding of modular software design and scalable architecture principles
•  Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and hardware-near programming.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, capable of bridging business and engineering perspectives.
