Sales Director – PtX (Green Hydrogen)

Shape the commercial foundation of KK Group’s PtX future

 

At KK Group, we are accelerating our journey within Power‑to‑X (Green Hydrogen) and advanced energy storage. To drive this growth, we are seeking a purpose-driven and results-oriented Sales Director to lead the commercial build‑up of our PtX Business Unit.

 

This is a director-level leadership role with full responsibility for strategy, structure, and revenue growth. The Sales Director reports directly to the Vice President of Energy Storage Systems and acts as a key member of the Energy Storage Systems leadership team.

 

In the short term, you will personally manage 2–3 strategic key accounts while building and leading a high-performance commercial team.

 

This is not a maintenance role.

It is about building, scaling, and winning in a fast-moving green transition market.

Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Market Positioning

  • Develop and execute the overall PtX sales strategy aligned with corporate and Energy Storage Systems objectives
  • Define target segments (electrolyser OEMs, EPCs, developers, integrators, asset owners)
  • Translate market insights into actionable growth plans
  • Position KK as preferred system partner in early project phases

 

Revenue Growth & Pipeline Ownership

  • Own full PtX order intake, revenue targets, and margin performance
  • Build and monitor a robust multi-year opportunity pipeline
  • Drive large, complex, long-cycle solution sales
  • Ensure early engagement before RFQ to influence scope and technical positioning

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and coach a team of Hunter/KAM profiles
  • Establish clear KPIs, sales governance, and pipeline transparency
  • Foster a high-performance, proactive commercial culture
  • Ensure strong collaboration with engineering, product management, and operations

 

Key Account Management (Short-Term Operational Role)

  • Personally manage 2–3 strategic PtX customers
  • Drive commercial expansion within these accounts
  • Convert pilot or first-of-a-kind projects into repeat business

 

Commercial Structuring & Negotiation

  • Lead high-value contract negotiations
  • Structure complex system contracts

Our requirements

What You Bring

Experience

  • 10+ years in technical B2B sales within energy, renewables, grid, PtX or industrial systems
  • Experience leading sales teams or commercial units
  • Strong track record in winning new customers and complex system projects
  • Experience with long-cycle, solution-based selling
  • Exposure to hydrogen or large infrastructure projects is a strong advantage

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Executive presence and strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization
  • Comfortable operating in emerging markets with ambiguity

  • Fluent in English; Danish or German is a plus

This role is based in our office in Ikast, with flexibility for hybrid work.
