This is an opportunity to work across the full M&A process, from identifying and evaluating potential acquisition opportunities to transaction execution and post-acquisition integration.

You will work closely with key stakeholders across the organization, combining financial analysis with strategic and commercial insights to support important investment decisions.

The role offers early responsibility, broad exposure to M&A and close interaction with senior management within an international group backed by A.P. Møller Holding, where M&A is an important lever for future growth.

The position is based in Copenhagen and requires presence in our Madrid office three days per week.

  • Screen and assess potential acquisition targets, including strategic fit, financial performance, valuation and key investment considerations.
  • Prepare investment cases, including strategic rationale, financial returns, risks and value creation opportunities.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify potential acquisition targets and assess new markets and growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with business divisions and relevant functions to assess commercial, financial and operational aspects of potential acquisitions.
  • Support post-acquisition integration planning, including identification and assessment of potential synergies.
  • Support broader corporate development and strategic initiatives across the Group.

Our requirements

Your profile

We expect you to have 2-4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably from investment banking, corporate M&A, private equity or Big 4 transaction services. Candidates with a background in strategy consulting and strong financial capabilities will also be considered.

In addition, we expect that you have:

  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with financial modelling, valuation and financial statement analysis.
  • Experience with M&A transactions, financial due diligence or other transaction-related activities.
  • A good commercial understanding and the ability to combine financial analysis with strategic considerations.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to develop clear and well-structured decision material.
  • A structured and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and challenge assumptions when relevant.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate financial and strategic conclusions clearly.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across functions, countries and organizational levels.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

We value intellectual curiosity, sound judgement and a willingness to take responsibility. You should be comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change, and where you are expected to take initiative, challenge assumptions and contribute actively.
