Responsibilities

  • Plan, define, and execute firmware verification and validation (V&V) strategies for monitoring and control hardware used in wind turbine and industrial environments.
  • Analyse firmware, system, and product requirements and translate them into clear test plans, test specifications, test cases, validation protocols, acceptance criteria, and requirement traceability.
  • Perform firmware verification and validation across unit, integration, system, regression, and release-validation levels, including both manual and automated test execution.
  • Develop and execute black-box, white-box, boundary, negative, fault-injection, and robustness tests for embedded firmware features and state machines.

  • Hands-on experience with embedded C, C++, Embedded Linux, firmware debugging on target hardware, and validation of embedded firmware behaviour.
  • Good understanding of the V-model lifecycle, requirement-based testing, test-case design, defect lifecycle, and release validation.
  • Hands-on experience with unit, integration, black-box, white-box, and regression testing for embedded systems.
  • Awareness of MISRA C guidelines and ability to interpret common compliance findings and support closure with firmware developers.
  • Experience using version control and issue-tracking tools such as Git, Jira, DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Basic ability to read schematics and understand embedded hardware blocks such as microcontrollers, sensors, power supplies, communication transceivers, and interface circuits.
  • Good knowledge of common embedded interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, RS485/Modbus, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, multimeters, power supplies, serial terminals, debuggers, and protocol logs.
