Are you a mechanical, business, industrial or manufacturing engineering student who enjoys understanding how products are designed, manufactured and — most importantly — how they can be made better and more cost-effective?
We are looking for an Intern in Product Cost Excellence to join our team in Horsens.
You will become part of our Cost Excellence function and work closely with a team of three Cost-Out Engineers based in the Czech Republic and Denmark. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of selected cost-out activities, from identifying an opportunity to developing the business case and supporting implementation.
Your responsibilities will include a broad range of product and cost optimization activities, such as:
- Product reviews – analyzing existing cooling product portfolio and identifying opportunities for cost, design and performance improvements
- Cost-out initiatives – identifying and developing opportunities to reduce cooling product cost through redesign, simplification, material changes and product optimization
- Design-to-cost – challenging existing designs and investigating alternative technical solutions
- Dual sourcing – supporting initiatives to qualify alternative suppliers and reduce dependency on single-source components
- Manufacturing optimization – identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce complexity and lower production costs
- Supplier and component analysis – comparing technical and commercial alternatives
- Implementation support – following cost-out ideas from initial opportunity through analysis, validation and implementation
- Cross-functional collaboration – working with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Product Management and other functions
